She Speaks FireSample
Your accuser of shame has been thrown down.
He’s done. He’s defeated. His voice has no power. His narrative has been silenced.
Let me show you in the garden where God did this.
We know that God moved Adam and Eve out of the garden out of love, not punishment, so they wouldn’t eat from the tree of eternal life and live with guilt and shame for eternity. But did we also connect that God moved them out of the garden so they could be a billboard of His grace to the enemy all the days of their lives? See, Adam and Eve couldn’t remind the enemy on a daily basis of his defeat in the garden because God had banished him from there. While the enemy wandered outside the garden, so did Adam and Eve, reminding him of his defeat. Their life followed him and served as a megaphone of God’s redemption over them. Adam and Eve may have been on the outside of the garden, but they weren’t outside of their relationship with God. God not only removed Adam and Eve to save them from an eternity of shame, but He also positioned them to declare loudly that the enemy hadn’t won. And in doing so, God showed us how to silence the enemy’s voice for all the things we’ve done in the past and for all the future things we’ll do that the enemy is waiting to accuse us of later.
You and I are free, and it’s not because of what we’ve done, but because of what Jesus has done. The longer you linger in what is written in His Word about you, the more what you know becomes what you believe. Once we wholeheartedly believe His truth, we can recognize someone else’s lies and call them out instead of just accepting them as truth. We take control of the narrative away from the enemy and put it back in the mouth of our God.
God’s love plucks away every shameful thought that doesn’t align with His truth until all we’re left with is the truth that remains—His truth and no one else’s.
Prayer
Dear God, thank You for Your truth and for being faithful and trustworthy, and thank You for saving me from an eternity of shame. Amen.
