More Than Conquerers: Claiming Victory Over SinSample
Transformed
Through Jesus’ death and resurrection, God took care of the big issue where sin is concerned. Thanks to Him, those who put their faith in Jesus don’t have to be afraid of dying because we know that we will spend eternity with our Heavenly Father. The Holy Spirit, who He sends to live in our hearts after we put our faith in Jesus tells us so.
It’s the daily stuff that we have to concern ourselves with. While spiritual rebirth is instant the moment that we put our faith in Jesus for salvation, transformation into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit takes a lifetime and requires our cooperation.
Salvation is about rescue, but Christianity is about obedience, a daily—sometimes momentary—choice to live the kind of life that God intended for us to live by the power of Jesus’ Holy Spirit inside us, walking away from the sin that once enslaved us and embracing the freedom His death and resurrection afforded us.
- If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ for salvation, how does it feel to know that death has no power over you?
- How do you think God wants you to use the freedom that knowledge provides?
- What is your current attitude toward sin in general?
- Toward the sin in your own life?
- Does this attitude toward sin reflect gratitude for Jesus’ sacrifice?

About this Plan
“More than conquerors,” that’s what the Bible calls those who have put their faith in Jesus Christ for eternal salvation from the consequences of sin (Romans 8:35-39). So why do we continue to struggle after surrendering our lives to Him? Because the Enemy is alive and well and wants to steal our joy. Don’t let him! Overcome by the power of the Holy Spirit instead.
