Real Hope: TrustSample

Eternity In Our Hearts
Trust. It’s given. It’s earned. It’s broken. It’s lost. It can grow. Who do you trust? What do you trust?
I’ve had many a conversation with my friends (who say I’m very slow to trust, for the record) about what trusting someone looks like and means.
Then into this mix comes our faith walk… and what trusting God looks like outworked in our day-to-day
lives.
… ‘and I know God has made everything beautiful for its time. God has also placed in our minds a sense of eternity; we look back on the past and ponder over the future, yet we cannot understand the doings of God’ (Ecclesiastes 3:11, The Voice).
This verse in Ecclesiastes leads me to consider that sometimes trust is sitting at peace in the tension.
Holding both the truth that God in His infinite wisdom has placed deep within us a grand sense of eternity and purpose… and the truth that we cannot comprehend the full scope of all God is doing… in the same heart.
Trust is allowing what may seem like a contradiction to build and grow faith, rather than to undermine it and lead your heart to despair. So meditate on this verse. Pray and ask God to speak to you in this season. Do you need to give control back to Him, trust Him, and allow Him to make a situation or circumstance beautiful in its time?
