Elevate: A Conversation About Violence and PeaceSample

Whether or not you’re “in a relationship,” we all have relationships that we navigate every day, and even the best relationships will bring challenges, conflicts, and misunderstandings at some point. When it comes to relationships, Paul gives a very specific and high standard to believers: Do all that you can to live in peace with everyone. While you can’t control the actions of others, you always have the power to choose your response. Choose kindness over judgment and compassion over criticism. Strive for empathy, be actively curious, extend forgiveness, and seek understanding. Living at peace doesn’t mean avoiding conflict, but engaging others in a way that reflects God’s love.
How can you choose to live at peace with those around you? What’s one thing you can do today to choose peace? Peace has a ripple effect. Choosing peace in your relationships has the power to influence those around you and transform your community.
