Braving Change

DAY 7 OF 7

Choose to Rebuild: Fix Your Eyes

We can understand through Scripture and experience that death in the spiritual brings new life. We have to be willing to let go of something that was great but is no longer good for us and not our responsibility to carry. We cannot rebuild and say yes to the new assignment God is placing before us if we're still holding on to what was. Life is full of moments when we let go and then pick up the right things, tear down and uproot, rebuild, and replant. We have to release the past to be able to build the future.

God is my Firm Foundation, Unshakable through the shaking. He is the One on which I choose to build my home and my life, and in Him is where I put my hope.

So, whether I am beginning again, recovering from a loss, facing a difficult ending or situation, or walking into a new season, He is my Home. My Rock.

Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen" (NKJV). With this being true, then I'd say making the choice to trust where God is leading us through the pain of change is worth every step. Every tear. Every prayer. Every hour of waiting, wondering, and hoping. As you continue to brave the waters of change, remember that, above all, Christ Jesus is our only constant, our Firm Foundation. When you cry out for change, recognize transition when you’re in it. Grieve, and recover from the losses. May you release the past and forget the former things as God does something new in and through you.

So where have you fixed your eyes? This will determine your outcomes, health, heart posture, and trajectory more than you know. Are our eyes fixed on what is seen, that which will fade away? Or are they fixed on the unseen, the Eternal, that which will remain? We need vision in transition coupled with a passionate resolve to fix our eyes on Jesus, come what may.

Trust where God is leading you.

Questions and Prayer

  • Question: Are you available to surrender when God says let go? Available to get up and move with just a nudge of His Spirit?
  • Prayer: My Final Prayer For You From Philippians 1:6, 9-11, (NLT)
"I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns...I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation - righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ— for this will bring much glory and praise to God."
