Fear NotSample
My God Will Never Leave Me
I spent a lot of nights in high school waiting for a bus on a dark corner after late practices or events. One of the bitterest experiences for all bus-dependent people is to arrive at the corner seconds too late and to watch the bus you need pulling away. Perhaps that sounds like small potatoes, but it's miserable at the time. That "left behind" panic lingers in the mind; it is an ongoing fear that many have.
"They left without me" means that you're not very valuable. "They left without me" means that maybe they thought of you as a drag on their fun. "They left without me" means that you don't belong.
Your God will never leave you. Here is his promise to every believer: "I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, 'Do not fear; I will help you. Do not be afraid'" (Isaiah 41:13,14).
When bleak feelings of abandonment sweep over your soul, visualize a kindly Father taking you by the hand and holding you close. Imagine how safe you are when the Lord of all walks at your side. Believe him when he assures you that he is guiding your steps to the place where you can live with him forever. After the dark valley of the shadow of death comes the house of the Lord forever.

About this Plan
What are you afraid of? God has spoken over and over again to fearful people. His angels repeatedly say, "Don’t be afraid." This reading plan contains pairs of devotions. The first devotion in a pair voices a fear that plagues many of us. The second devotion contains God's words of reassurance and comfort.
