Perfect Redemption: Easter Devotional for KidsSample
Anointed for Burial
Have your parents ever bought you an expensive toy that you cherish? Can you give the toy to your best friend as a gift? We read about a woman who came to Jesus with a beautiful alabaster jar of expensive perfume and poured it on His feet. Everyone saw it as wasting the oil or perfume. However, Jesus told them that the woman has done a beautiful thing and she is anointing him to prepare his body for burial.
The woman anointed Jesus with her most expensive and valuable possession. She did not care about what the people will say or the cost of the perfume.
This is a story about love and sacrifice. It reminds us of what our love for Jesus should look like. What precious and valuable possession are you willing to give to God? As children of God, we need to always serve Him with the whole of our hearts and give him the best of our time, talent, service, and possessions.
