God and Me: Devotions from Time of GraceSample
God and My Eternity
How blessed you are! How favored of the Lord! You've been given the secret of the path to eternal life!
Nobody knows it by nature. Nobody can reason it out. Scientific inquiry will never find it. Neither NASA nor the National Geographic Society will discover it. No non-Christian religion can get you there. But the Lord has led you to the Bible, and the Bible has led you to Christ. In Scripture alone is the revealed knowledge that "those who live and believe in me will never die" (as Jesus told Martha). "You have made known to me the path of life; you will fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand" (Psalm 16:11).
Though your life right now may be dogged with frustrations and brokenness, when you stand before a smiling Savior, you will be filled to the brim with joy. Though now your body may ache and the struggle for survival may be hard, in heaven you will be filled with pure pleasure in God's new world. You will beam at your triumphant companions in faith, "This is so worth the wait!"
In your circle of influence, are there any people who as yet don't know about the path of life?
