Listen: Guided by the Holy SpiritSample

Mastering His Vocabulary
For any natural relationship to blossom, it requires frequent communication. In the same way, our relationship with the Godhead will require communication. Hearing God’s voice becomes a lot less complicated when we truly desire to know Him.
Psalm 40:6 (AMPC) reminds us of this reality –
‘Sacrifice and offering You do not desire, nor have You delight in them; You have given me the capacity to hear and obey [Your law, a more valuable service than] burnt offerings and sin offerings [which] You do not require.’
Psalm 36:9 (AMPC) provides further clarity –
‘For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light do we see light.’
As we come into agreement with how He has designed us to hear Him and as we recognize that only He can guide us, He leads us on a journey to discover His voice and to respond to Him.
Psalm 19 reminds us that the primary ways in which God speaks to us are through nature, through His Word and through that inner witness of God’s Spirit.
