Victory in the Mind: Lessons From Jesus in the Wilderness

DAY 2 OF 5

The Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is our Source of Power and guides us through life's challenges. Just like Jesus, we can overcome evil.

Jesus, fully obedient to God, embarked on a journey that included going into the wilderness. There, He encountered the devil, who tempted Him to sin. You might wonder why the Spirit would lead Jesus into such a situation, but the answer lies in the fact that this was an essential part of Jesus' journey. By facing temptation and resisting it, Jesus demonstrated His complete obedience to God and unwavering commitment to fulfilling His Mission on Earth. Despite the devil's efforts to derail Him, Jesus emerged victorious, remaining faithful to God and true to His Purpose.

Jesus had to confront the devil and overcome every temptation because He was the Ultimate Example to humanity on how to follow God and defeat evil. Unlike Adam, Eve, and Israel, Jesus obeyed God completely without succumbing to idols or sin. His Perfect Obedience qualifies Him as Divine; thus, He is the Messiah.

Jesus' time in the wilderness is an example for us to follow. It is important to note that the Holy Spirit is critical to overcoming the enemy. The Spirit empowered Jesus to live a Godly Life, and when we accept and believe in the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit descends upon us.

So, take a deep breath and repeat after me: "I will follow the Holy Spirit." Now exhale and say: "I have the Power to overcome evil." Tomorrow, we will talk more about the wilderness.
