Hope Beyond CircumstancesSample
By the Power
For many of us, it is not easy to explain our relationship with the Holy Spirit in our lives. He is the third person of the Godhead, and along with the Father and Jesus, is on humanity’s side. The power of the Holy Spirit is the source of hope in our lives. It is the path to genuine joy and peace.
The Holy Spirit is not just the fiery tongues that appeared to hundreds on the day of Pentecost. He is not only the God of the grand and dramatic moments in the Old Testament. The Holy Spirit is the God of every moment, and His power and presence are available to anyone who desires them. He guides us with small ideas throughout the day, inclinations of what we should do, and awareness of the choices that are presented to us. Jesus called Him our Helper, who will teach us all things and be with us always.
The power of the Holy Spirit is the divine within us. When humans were created, God breathed into us, giving us life. As children of God, when we allow ourselves to be guided by the Holy Spirit, we connect with Him and can discern God’s will for us through Him.
Hope, joy, and peace don’t come from circumstances. They come through the power of God. It is not that the Holy Spirit leads us to better circumstances; it is that He teaches us how to perceive our circumstances. In them, we find peace, joy, and hope.
This power is not just for us to enjoy; it is a testimony for others to see. We are a testimony of what God does through His Spirit. When we “overflow with hope,” it spills over to others and affects the world around us. The joy He pours into our lives gives us the strength to navigate through circumstances, not the other way around.
If we want to transform our lives, we don’t need transformed circumstances; we need a transformed perspective and to trust in a God who exercises His power in all areas of life.
Lord, I thank You for the gift of the Holy Spirit in my life. I ask that You allow me to be filled with joy and happiness to navigate the circumstances around me. Allow everyone to see that You are mighty by observing the peace with which Your followers can live in a complicated world.
