Unlock Your Way of Experiencing GodSample
I want to address this critical point in today's final reading. Everything God creates for good, our spiritual enemy wants to corrupt for evil. Our primary ways of experiencing God are no different. Just because someone can corrupt something does not mean the entire gift, purpose, or experience is corrupt. So, just because what I'm about to share about these experiences with God can be corrupted, they are not at their core corrupted. They are good.
Let's say you know of a worship leader who loves attention and all of the accolades, but that doesn't make worship inherently wrong. Or maybe you know someone who loves to pray long and lengthy prayers to make themselves sound holy. That doesn't make prayer inherently wrong.
What if you were part of a church or biblical community where the people were pious or judgmental? What if there is a passage of scripture in the Bible that you don't like or understand? What if you have heard a preacher teach something clearly wrong and even deceitful? All of the above experiences are true and, sadly, have happened numerous times to numerous people.
Just because the above instances are valid doesn't negate that the core ways of experiencing God are accurate and true. Just because an individual battles anorexia, bulimia, or obesity, that doesn't inherently make food wrong or evil.
As the Church, as the body of Christ, we should love our brothers and sisters worldwide and learn to appreciate the differences in styles and ways we all experience God. Just because I experience God in a particular way doesn't mean you will as well, and that's okay.
I hope you enjoyed these past seven days and that you have a better understanding and appreciation of your ways of experiencing God as well as others’ unique ways of connecting with their Heavenly Father. Now go and experience God and His deep and profound love for you as His son or daughter. Blessings!
