If someone asked you to name the person who knows you best, who would you say that is? Maybe it’s someone in your given family, like a parent or sibling. Maybe it’s someone you’ve known for years, like a best friend. Or maybe it’s someone who came into your life later, like a spouse, a coworker, or even a child. Or maybe it’s you! After all, nobody can know you better than you do, right? Or maybe, if you’re honest, you’d say you don’t know how to answer. You aren’t sure if anybody (yourself included!) knows you. As the prophet Jeremiah reminded us, no one knows us better than God, our Creator.
He formed us before birth, crafting every detail of who we are. He set us apart as His own before we came into existence in this world. When we wonder where we can go to be truly and deeply known, we can find our answer in God, our Creator and Maker, who knows us better than we can even know ourselves. Take time to memorize this verse this week. Let the truth it declares root in your heart and mind to remind you of the identity you have in God and how known and loved you are.

About this Plan

Like a plant, our root system—our identity—is vitally important to our health. It’s how you see yourself in light of God, others, and the world. It’s what holds you when life changes, threatens, or causes you to question what’s true about you! We’ll look at how a healthy identity rooted in who God is will keep us strong, vibrant, and grounded no matter what comes our way.
