Stage 5: Problem Solving

The fifth stage, the problem-solving stage, is a key component of the six stages. Once God has taken you through a process of maturity, then the fruit of that process often results in you solving some type of problem that ultimately gives you the authority in which God wants you to operate. For example, God raised up Pharaoh in order to demonstrate his power to him, his nation, and the people of Israel (Romans 9:17).

Through Moses, God solved the problem of freeing the people of Israel from slavery, using as the catalyst a series of miraculous plagues. This is how God works through us to bring solutions that can solve problems in our world. We gain influence by being better and by providing solutions to culture’s leaders and their problems. And when there are injustices, we tap into the power of God for the solution to the injustice, just as Martin Luther King Jr. did.

It may cost you your life when you stand up for righteousness and a cause that is bigger than yourself. When satan throws bricks at you, let God use them to build his kingdom by tapping into heaven and letting God solve the problem. Jesus never fretted over a problem; He already has a solution. So too do you, because Jesus lives inside of you. Solving problems will give you greater authority and influence. When Jesus told the disciples to feed the five thousand, he enabled them to fulfill the assignment.

George Washington Carver is one of the greatest inspirational stories of all time. Here was a man who should have been a victim to his circumstances. He lived during the worst time of slavery in America. He lost his mother to the slave trade; he was discriminated against continually. He could have become a victim to his circumstances. Yet he was a follower of Jesus who was gifted with an inventive mind. He discovered more than three hundred uses for the peanut and one hundred uses for the sweet potato that transformed the Southern economy.
