Today's Words, Tomorrow's HarvestsSample
What I Say To Myself Matters
Words are predictors of behaviors. What you say to yourself matters. The Bible says a man is as he thinks (Proverbs 23:7, Amplified Bible). Though self-fulfilling prophecy is associated with cycles of negative outcomes, these cycles can be broken with your decisions. You can't control what others say about you, but you can choose how you respond.
You have the power to control what you let into your mind and what you subsequently think upon. God's Word tells us to think on things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable (Philippians 4:8, Good News Translation). Whatever is true and actionable, you should thoughtfully consider. Whatever is untrue or comes from a place of malice, you should disregard or replace with truthful statements that are supportive of your continued growth and development.
Reflection: How consistent have you been in being your own advocate and guarding against that which would destroy your self-esteem?
