Who Does God Say We Are?

DAY 6 OF 7

Victorious in Christ

As men of faith, we are called to walk in the victory Christ has secured for us on the Cross.

His death and resurrection have overcome sin, death, and every obstacle that stands in our way.

We are not merely “survivors” of life's trials; we are conquerors who the Holy Spirit empowers to overcome every adversity that comes our way (Romans 8:37).

In 1 Corinthians 15:57, the apostle Paul says that our victory is a divine gift through our Lord Jesus Christ. This victory transcends human effort and is secured through Jesus' death and resurrection. It is a victory over sin, death, and every challenge we may encounter, filling us with unwavering faith and hope.

Romans 8:31-39 reinforces this message: “If God is for us, who can be against us?”

Nothing—neither trouble nor hardship, neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons—can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Our victory is anchored in this inseparable love and divine power (Romans 8:38-39).

Consider the story of David and Goliath from the Old Testament (1 Samuel 17:1-58). David, a young shepherd boy, faced the giant Goliath, a seasoned warrior, with only a sling and five stones. Despite the overwhelming odds, David's confidence was not in his own strength but in the Lord Almighty. He declared to the giant, “You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied” (1 Samuel 17:45), and with faith, David defeated Goliath.

What “Goliaths” are you facing today? Whenever we face fear or uncertainty, we can be assured that we will prevail with God on our side. Our victory in Christ is not about avoiding difficulties but overcoming them through faith in Him.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for our victory in You. Help us to walk in the confidence of Your triumph, knowing that You have overcome the world. Strengthen us to stand firm in our identity as victorious sons of God. Amen.

Reflection: How does the truth of being victorious in Christ shape your response to trials and difficulties in your life?

About this Plan

Who Does God Say We Are?

In this devotional for men, we will delve deeper into our identity in Christ: our roles as sons, heirs, chosen ones, and victors. We will explore what it means to live from this identity in our relationships, work, struggles, and triumphs. For in Jesus, we find our true identity, purpose, and ultimate fulfillment.
