Children's Guide to EasterSample
Day 7: Easter
That evening, Jesus' followers went to the cross. They carried his body to a tomb carved out of rock. Then they rolled a huge stone over the entrance and went home to mourn.
Two days passed.
On Sunday, Mary Magdalene and her friends brought spices to Jesus' tomb. On the way they wondered, "How will we push the heavy stone out of the way?"
But when they arrived, the tomb was already open! Jesus was gone! Mary began to cry. Suddenly, two angels appeared in dazzling light, "Why are you looking for the living One among the dead?"
Marys eyes were filled with tears. She could barely see. A stranger asked, "Why are you crying?" Mary thought it was the gardener, so she sobbed, "Did you carry Jesus away? Please tell me where he is."
Suddenly, Mary recognized the stranger! It was Jesus!
She ran to share the Good News!
On Easter, Jesus triumphed over sin and rose from the dead. If we believe in Jesus, he will forgive our sins. Do you want Jesus to forgive your sins? Do you believe in Jesus?
