Conviction vs Condemnation

DAY 1 OF 5

Day 1: Understanding Conviction.

As Believers, we know that conviction is one of the most important spiritual tools we can possess. It helps us listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit and stay on the right path. When we have conviction, we have a deep and sincere belief in something, particularly matters concerning our faith. It's like having a compass that helps us to stay on track and realign our lives with God's will.

But what exactly is conviction, and how can we know when we're experiencing it? Well, for starters, it often manifests itself in the form of little nudges or feelings of guilt. The Holy Spirit can convict us in these ways, always rooted in love. The Holy Spirit is not trying to make us feel unworthy or ashamed but rather to show us where we've gone astray so that we can repent and experience restoration.

In John 16:8, Jesus tells us that when the Holy Spirit comes, He will convict us of our sins, righteousness, and judgment. This means that the Holy Spirit is continually working to bring us closer to God and remind us of what's truly important. And while it's natural to feel guilty when we realize we've made mistakes, it's important not to let that guilt lead to condemnation. Instead, we should allow it to lead us to accept salvation and banish regret, as we're reminded in 2 Corinthians 7:10.

So, if you feel convicted by the Holy Spirit, don't be afraid to lean into that feeling and let it guide you. Remember that conviction is crucial to our faith, transforming our hearts and pulling us closer to God. And know you're not alone—the Holy Spirit is always there to guide you and help you stay on the right path.
