Nine Biblical Principles for Judging ProphecySample

Nine Biblical Principles for Judging Prophecy

DAY 10 OF 10

The fact that a prophecy is true is not proof it came from God. Satan has a fifth column of demonized agents who have infiltrated the church, transformed as angels of light, saying whatever is necessary to the body of Christ to create division, deception, or discouragement. Just because something is said in the name of God does not mean it came from God.

Everyone preaching the Gospel is not practicing the Gospel. Jesus said in Matthew 7:21–23 (NKJV): “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’”

Jesus said these are Hell-bound. They believed in signs and wonders, yet they were not approved by God because they were lawless rebels who built their own kingdom in the name of God.

If you are invited to attend a meeting where a prophet will “give you a word from the Lord” and that prophet does not have the approval of your spiritual authority, you are in spiritual danger. Attending any exclusive meeting where the elitist mentality prevails under the guise of receiving a personal prophecy is nothing more than the spirit of divination!

Why do people allow someone they don’t know, who has no spiritual covering, to lay their hands on them and prophesy over them? They are disciples without discipline! They are bored with the discipline of prayer and Bible study and are looking for a theology that provides goose bumps, thrills and chills.

They want Gospel lace and greasy grace; they abhor the message of the crucified life and self-denial. They are looking for the “new thing.” Acts 17:21 describes it this way: “For all the Athenians and the foreigners who were there spent their time in nothing else but either to tell or to hear some new thing” (NKJV). This spirit has saturated the church in America.

Undisciplined disciples submit themselves, their families, and their eternal souls into the hands of an unknown supernatural force operating in the life of an unknown person, often with devastating results.
