The Happy Days and the Ones That Aren't

DAY 19 OF 21

To truly follow Jesus means we must live counter-culturally. This doesn’t just mean standing out or being unique; it means living in a way that looks backward to the rest of the world. We are meant to imitate Jesus, and we can do that by associating with the humble, the outcasts, the hurting, and those society looks down on. We don’t do this just when it’s convenient or easy. We do this to be with people, which isn’t always comfortable. It requires vulnerability and risk, the opposite of our society telling us to save face and keep everything together. But to live with Christlike humility means to show up for others no matter who they are.

This week, the challenge is to do that! How can you show up for someone in need around you in a way that’s counter-cultural to what the world might tell you to do?

About this Plan

The Happy Days and the Ones That Aren't

A high school devotional designed to help students understand and unpack what happiness looks like. In this devotional, you’ll find wisdom to see how true happiness in the Kingdom of God is less about our circumstances or feelings and more about learning to trust and lean on God in all things.
