The Happy Days and the Ones That Aren'tSample

Have you ever found yourself struggling through a deeply difficult circumstance? The death of a loved one, the loss of a friendship, the end of a relationship, the pain of depression. Whatever it was for you, chances are you felt nearly crushed by the weight of the despair you felt in that season. It probably felt, at times, like you’d never feel anything other than sad and lost. That’s when the promises of God matter so much!
Even when our present circumstances are far from what we’d choose for ourselves, we can hold on to hope that we follow a God who is always working to make things new. That means what we feel today won’t necessarily last into all our tomorrows. With God, there is always hope that something new is coming.
Today, create a playlist of songs that encourage you to find hope in what God is doing in your life. You can ask your Small Group for help curating the perfect songs to offer you God’s much-needed hope and encouragement in your moments of pain and despair.

About this Plan

A high school devotional designed to help students understand and unpack what happiness looks like. In this devotional, you’ll find wisdom to see how true happiness in the Kingdom of God is less about our circumstances or feelings and more about learning to trust and lean on God in all things.
