The Kid: An Advent Devotional for Middle SchoolersSample

What do we talk about at Christmas every year? It’s all about the arrival of Jesus, the Kid who changed everything for us. The same Kid who appeared at Christmas thousands of years ago is still at work in our lives today. He didn’t just show up for one season or holiday; He came to make us new for all time! Following Jesus means leaving our old ways behind and getting a fresh start in Him. It doesn’t mean we never make mistakes or that life becomes perfect. It means His Spirit works in us constantly, helping us become more of the person God made us to be.
This week, read this verse aloud a few times. When you do, personalize it by replacing the words "the world" with your name. Let that sink in when you say it to remind you just how much God loves and wants to be close to you!
