Reading With the People of God - #6 LOVE

DAY 25 OF 31

Memorization Challenge:1 Corinthians 13:11-13

When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.

Reading Primer: Finding Strength in God’s Power

As you read today’s scriptures, take a moment to reflect on where you draw your strength and security. In Psalm 28, David cries out to God for help and finds his strength in the Lord’s saving power. This psalm reminds us that true strength comes not from our own abilities but from trusting in God’s provision and protection. Psalm 29 further emphasizes God’s power, portraying His voice as mighty and majestic over all creation.

Deuteronomy 29 focuses on God’s covenant with His people, calling them to remember His faithfulness and warning of the consequences of turning away. This chapter invites us to reflect on our relationship with God and consider how we remain faithful to Him in our lives.

In 2 Corinthians 12, Paul shares his own experience of weakness and how God’s strength is made perfect through it. Paul’s humility and reliance on God remind us that it is often in our weakness that God’s power is most fully revealed.

As you meditate on these passages, consider how God’s strength can sustain you in your weaknesses and daily life.

Prayer of Illumination:
Lord, as we read Your Word today, help us to see Your strength at work in our lives. Remind us that in our weakness, Your power is made perfect. Open our hearts to rely more fully on You, trusting in Your strength and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, Amen.

About this Plan

Reading With the People of God - #6 LOVE

This is the sixth part of a reading plan through the Bible, following the lectionary pattern of reading in the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament each day. In addition, each day this month will feature a memorization challenge for 1 Corinthians 13 (The Love Chapter), and there will be brief devotionals from different people in our Church scattered throughout the plan.
