Words of Life

Who isn’t searching for life?

A fulfilled life.
A valuable life.
A life that matters.

We often look for life in achievements, relationships, money, or comfort. Those things can be good, but Jesus talks about something deeper. He says that the Spirit gives life, and His words are Spirit and life. True life comes from Jesus Himself.

In this episode of The Chosen, Matthew listens as Jesus preaches the Sermon on the Mount. Earlier, Matthew helped write Jesus prepare the sermon by writing it down. He heard Jesus refine and form this message. But now Jesus speaks them aloud, and Matthew realizes something: these words carry a new weight when spoken by the One who created them.

Maybe you’ve experienced that too – when a familiar passage suddenly comes to life and speaks right into your situation. That is what Jesus’ words do. Hebrews tells us that His word is powerful and sharper than a double-edged sword. Isaiah says His words never return empty. When Jesus speaks, something happens.

His words cut through confusion.
His words expose what is true.
His words heal, strengthen, correct, and guide.
His words give life.

And His words are powerful enough for your life today. Generations of believers have built their lives on His teachings and promises. You can trust them too.

How do you take in His words? Do you have a rhythm – a way to slow down and let His voice shape you?

Jesus wants to give you life, life in all its fullness, and His words are one of the primary ways He does that.

Take them in, read them, meditate on them, ray them, and live them.

Because in His words, you will find:

A fulfilled life.
A valuable life.
A life that matters.

In His words, you will find Jesus Himself.

Prayer

Lord Jesus, thank You that Your words are Spirit and life. Teach me to hear You, to take in Your words deeply, and to live from them each day. Help me find the fullness of life in You alone. Amen.
