Acts 7:1-19 | You Are Part of a Bigger StorySample
Stephen spoke boldly. He begins by talking about God, and calls him the God of glory. Because when you come to know God in all his glory, you have the courage to face anything.
This is not the first time someone in the early church spoke boldly. Think of the end of Acts 4. Can you imagine Stephen praying with Peter and John to “enable your servants to speak your words with great boldness?” Like the apostles, Stephen is living it out.
Or in Acts 5. Before the Sanhedrin, Peter boldly said “We must obey God rather than human beings!” Have you ever seen a Christian speak boldly? Have you ever spoken boldly to people in authority? Have you ever felt that someone was coercing you to back down from your witness? Look to God’s glory. May it help you witness boldly to God’s greater story and the role in that story you play.
About this Plan
As a Christian, you’re part of something bigger. God has a story, and you have a role to play. This 5-day plan continues a journey through the book of Acts, the Bible’s gripping sequel of Jesus at work in the life of his followers as he expands his kingdom to the ends of the earth. It’s a journey on what it means to be a Christian. It’s a story in which you have a role to play.
