And You, My Child

A few years ago - I had just given my life ánd spectacular mess to Papa - my mother gave me a prophecy. A Word that she felt God had given her for me. It was this scripture, Luke 1: 76 - 80.

Since then, I've been given this scripture several other times by different people. And sometime later, personally by the Holy Spirit.

First, I was hesitant to receive it. I mean, who was I? Still, it deeply resonated with me. And a part of me had always known there was something 'hanging over me'. I had lived a life far away from God. But now, guys like Isaiah, Jeremiah, and John the Baptist felt/feel like long-lost brothers to me.

But you know what these guys were? They were waymakers. They went before God and prepared the way.

Do you know what they used to do that? You guessed it..the Word of God!

Now, you have to realize, this was way before I knew I was ever going to do a little something that was called Project of Love. God's Word put to music.

But a few things had to happen first before this could take place.

And they did. Looking back now, you've got to love God, and the way He orchestrates things :)

I had a few addictions to overcome first. With His help, I did.

I didn't understand the Word, at all. But He gave me a raw hunger and understanding for the Word.

I had to come to the point where I gave away my (former) music. Only to have it given back to me a few months later by God. With the words: "Grab your guitar and sing what you're reading" (when I was reading Isaiah 12).

And now I am a waymaker, just like John.

And like John I can now say: "Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!"

PS. This song is like a lullaby. Sing these words of Life to your little ones while you hold them. You never know, you might be holding the next John or Janis the Baptist ;)

76. And you, my child, will be called the prophet of the Most High,
because you will prepare the way for the Lord.
