Clean (S3-E5)Sample

Being revolutionary = fun!?
Jesus uses a simple image to explain something important. If you put new wine into old wineskins, the new, still slightly sparkling wine will cause the old wineskins to burst. The wine is lost, and the skins are ruined. That is not the goal. The conclusion is clear: new wine belongs in new wineskins. They’re flexible and can handle the pressure of the new wine.
There’s a principle at work here.
In this episode of The Chosen, Philip casually says, “Being revolutionary is fun!” For some people, it might sound exciting. For others, it sounds intimidating.
Earlier in this series, Jesus says, “I didn’t come to start a revolt, but a revolution.”
So what kind of revolution does Jesus bring?
It’s a revolution marked by humility, gentleness, love, hunger for righteousness. It is shaped by purity and peace. This revolution is not loud or violent, but it is powerful. It changes hearts, restores relationships, and makes God’s reign visible through ordinary lives.
Do you long for that kind of revolution?
This revolution is not “fun” because it is easy. It is “fun” because it brings life. It helps you see people more clearly and respond with grace. It aligns your life with the Kingdom Jesus is bringing.
But new wine still requires new wineskins. Old patterns built on fear, control, or performance cannot hold what Jesus wants to do. Religion without relationship will tear under the pressure of real transformation. Jesus invites you to let go of what no longer holds life and walk freely with Him.
You are part of a revolution. It begins and ends with Jesus Himself, and it flows through you into the world around you.
Reflection Questions
- What does the word “revolution” mean to you?
- In what ways is Jesus revolutionary?
- Are there any “old wineskins” you need to let go of?
- What “revolutionary” action is Jesus asking of you today?
Prayer
Lord Jesus, You are revolutionary. You reshape lives and restore what is broken. Even when change feels uncomfortable, teach me to trust You. Help me release what no longer brings life and receive what You want to do in me. Work through me today. Amen.
