Day 25 Renewal Readings
The Attributes of God
God is exalted beyond our understanding; the number of His years is unsearchable. (Job 36:26)
You are He; You are the first, and You are also the last. (Isaiah 48:12)
The Works of God
The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world and all who dwell in it. For He founded it upon the seas and established it upon the waters. (Psalm 24:1-2)
The Lord covers Himself in light as with a garment; He stretches out the heavens like a tent curtain and lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters. He makes the clouds His chariot and walks on the wings of the wind. He makes the winds His messengers, flames of fire His servants. He set the earth on its foundations, so that it can never be moved. You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains. At Your rebuke the waters fled; at the sound of Your thunder they hurried away. They flowed over the mountains and went down into the valleys to the place You assigned for them. You set a boundary they cannot cross, that they will not return to cover the earth. O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You made them all; the earth is full of Your possessions. (Psalm 104:2-9, 24)
My Relationship to God
I will give thanks to the Lord, call upon His name, and make known to others what He has done. I will sing to Him, sing praises to Him, and tell of all His wonderful acts. (1 Chronicles 16:8-9)
I trust in Your loyal love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation. I will sing to the Lord, for He has dealt bountifully with me. (Psalm 13:5-6)
The Character I Want to Cultivate
In a multitude of words, transgression does not cease, but he who restrains his lips is wise. (Proverbs 10:19)
A fool has no delight in understanding, but only in airing his own opinions. (Proverbs 18:2)
My Relationship to Others
Love is as strong as death, and jealousy is as cruel as the grave; its flames are flames of fire, a flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, nor can rivers overflow it. If a man were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned. (Song of Solomon 8:6-7)
Since she is a companion and a wife by covenant, a husband should not deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. The Lord God of hosts seeks a godly offspring and hates divorce; therefore we must take heed to our spirit and not deal treacherously. (Malachi 2:14-16)
