A person’s final words are important, and the last words of Jesus to his disciples were, “Go and make disciples of all nations” (Matthew 28:19). Jesus says you will receive the Holy Spirit’s power for the purpose of being witnesses for the gospel. The disciples’ main mission was preaching the gospel that saves. Miracles accompanied them for the purpose of helping them preach the good news. In the epistles, the apostle Paul said if you want to see the power of the Holy Spirit, preach the gospel and see what it does, see how it saves!

SPIRIT-LED WITNESSING EXERCISE

After reading the Scriptures of the day, take a moment to reflect and engage in this exercise.

• BELIEVE: Remind yourself of the beauty of the gospel, intentionally believing that Jesus is with you when you witness, that the gospel is powerful, and that the Holy Spirit will empower you.
• BE AVAILABLE: Ask the Holy Spirit daily for opportunities to share the gospel. At times, He will open doors for you, and at other times, He will encourage you to open them yourself. Be available as you walk to work, do the shopping, go to the gym, or visit the doctor. Jesus sent out His disciples in pairs, so when you witness, go with a partner.
• BE BOLD: When you sense a prompting from the Holy Spirit, take a step of faith and act on it. This might look like asking a question during a conversation, inviting someone to dinner or a church event, offering to pray for someone, or sharing a word of encouragement.
