God’s love for us is more than affection or emotion. It’s an action. And in this case – a powerful sacrificial action.
God gave His only Son to die for us. Jesus gave up His position in heaven to come to earth as a man and take both the spiritual weight of our sin and the earthly pain and humiliation of the cross.
Imagine the gratitude you would give if someone gave up their life for you in this world. Consider how you would express that gratitude to their family and how it would change your perspective on life.
Now consider God’s love for you as seen in His sacrifice. How does that shape your response to God today?
