When you were a little girl, did your heart overflow with dreams and aspirations for the future? Did you envision yourself as a princess, a mermaid, a ballerina? How about when you got older—did you want to become a teacher, a lawyer, a doctor, even a cupcake decorator? Regardless of what you hoped to be, you likely dared to imagine a life filled with adventure and fulfillment.

Yet, as we journey through the complexities of adulthood—navigating high school, maybe college, along with grown-up relationships, engagements, and marriage— our lives often unfold in unexpected ways. Some of our childhood dreams may come to fruition, but many remain elusive, lost amid the twists and turns of life’s journey.
