BREATHE--- in HIS Holy Name: 31 Divine Names of GOD (Part 1)

DAY 2 OF 4

Day 2: YAHWEH JIREH

Theological Significance: Yahweh Jireh, Yahweh Yireh, and Jehovah Jireh all mean "The Lord Will Provide." These names reveal God's nature as a provider, ensuring that the needs of His people are met. The name Yahweh Jireh originates from Genesis 22 and marks the moment when Abraham recognized God as his provider, naming the place Yahweh Jireh after God provided a ram as a substitute for his son, Isaac. "Jireh" is derived from the Hebrew root "ra'ah," meaning "to see," implying that God sees the needs of His people and provides accordingly. Yahweh Jireh embodies the idea that God is aware of every detail in our lives and meets us in our time of need.

Use in Scripture:

  • So Abraham named that place The Lord Will Provide. And it is said to this day, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be seen and provided.” (Genesis 22:14 AMP)

Devotional: Intimacy with God through His provision as Yahweh Jireh invites us to trust God as the ultimate provider, not only for our physical needs but for our emotional, mental, spiritual, and financial needs as well.

When we breathe in His name, we acknowledge that God sees us, knows our needs, and provides for us in ways we can't always foresee.

Breathing the name Yahweh Jireh is a declaration of trust in His provision, recognizing that God’s care for us is constant and unwavering. Each breath becomes an act of surrender, acknowledging that we depend on Him for everything. In this intimate exchange, we draw closer to Him, knowing that His provision is always perfect and on time.

Breath Prayer Exercise:

  1. Inhale deeply through your nose. Focus on your trust in Yahweh’s provision.
  2. Exhale slowly through your mouth, softly saying, "Yahweh Jireh, You always provide for me."
  3. Continue this breath prayer for several minutes, focusing on God's faithful provision in your life. Allow yourself to feel a deep sense of gratitude with each breath you take.

May this breath prayer help to build trust in Yahweh as your provider. May it reinforce your faith in His constant love and provision for you. As you breathe, let every breath be an act of worship, praise, and prayer to the one who is always faithful to provide.
