The Triumph of the Cross: Christ’s Victory Over Death

DAY 6 OF 7

The Proclamation of Victory

Close your eyes for a moment and imagine this scene. Heaven is waiting. The angels hold their breath. Then, the words resound: "Lift up your heads, you gates; be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of Glory may come in!" (Psalm 24:7 NIV).

What a moment this must have been! The Risen One, the Victor, the Lion of Judah returns to heaven. But He does not come alone. In His wake follow the freed souls, the defeated powers, and a triumphal procession of cosmic proportions. This is no longer a humble entry—this is a King returning in glory!

Revelation 5:12-13 describes how millions of angels and all creatures in heaven and on earth praise Him: "Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and praise!" This is the moment all of history has been moving towards. Jesus is no longer just the Crucified One—He is the Glorious King who reigns forever.

And the most amazing thing? Philippians 2:9-11 tells us that one day, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. Not only believers but even those who reject Him now. Evil will not prevail. What a joyful assurance!

What does this mean for us here and now? It means that we are already part of this victory. Even in the storms of life, even when the world feels chaotic, we can live in the certainty that Jesus is already reigning. Imagine if you started each day with this awareness—that nothing is beyond His power, that no battle you face is without hope. How would that change your prayers? Ease your fears? Strengthen your faith?

How can the realization of Jesus’ victory help you in your daily life?
