Running With PerseveranceSample

Even to our old age
The Christian life is not only for those who possess the strength and enthusiasm of youth. Caleb is an example to follow (Joshua 14:6-14). God enables us to produce fruit even as we grow older (Psalm 92:12-15).
Returning to the parable of the sower, we note that bearing fruit requires perseverance (Luke 8:15).
God has promised to carry us until our old age (Isaiah 46:3-4). With His help, we can bring the message of salvation to our generation and to the generation that follows (Psalm 71:9; vv.17-18).
About this Plan

The Bible compares the Christian life to a race in Hebrews 12:1. Unfortunately, many people approach it as if it were a sprint, in which a quick start counts, or a middle-distance race to run smoothly. The real comparison is with a marathon, where various things and people are trying to slow us down or stop us. We must approach the race with the right mindset and with the knowledge that God provides us with the means to go all the way. What a tragedy it would be to abandon the race when victory is certain!
