Fearless & Free: Overcoming Fear With Faith a 5-Day Plan With Kelly RobersonSample

WHAT’S LOVE GOT TO DO WITH IT?
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (John 3:16). I’ve read that verse often, and it still blows my mind. God’s love is so deep that He gave up His Son for us. As a mom, I can’t imagine that kind of sacrifice. I would never offer my son to die for someone else. That’s next-level love. That love is powerful! More than a word, it’s a force so strong that it drives out fear.
1 John 4:18 says, “Perfect love casts out fear.” Not eases fear. Not calms fear. Casts it out. Imagine someone terrified of being rejected. The torment that comes with that fear can’t be handled by positive thinking or ignoring it. The only thing strong enough to cast out that fear is faith in God’s love.
Have you ever felt like something bad happened because you deserved it? That’s fear talking. Fear carries a sense of punishment. “I must be sick because I did something wrong.” But God’s love doesn’t operate that way. If you ever feel tormented, whether it’s fear of sickness, failure, or even death, then there’s an area where God’s love needs to be perfected in you.
When we believe that God loves us enough to heal us, then fear can’t overwhelm us, even when sickness comes. Faith in God, our Healer, keeps us whole. Jesus said repeatedly, “Your faith has made you well” (Mark 10:52). Here’s the kicker - faith only works through love (Galatians 5:6).
Song of Solomon 8:6 says, “Set me as a seal upon your heart… for love is as strong as death.” That verse hit me hard when my father passed. Fear gripped me like never before. I was afraid of death; it had come too close. One night, I couldn’t sleep. I was anxious, and I was convinced I was going to die that night!
Then, I heard God whisper to me: “Though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death, do not fear evil. I am with you, Kelly.”I took a deep breath, let those words sink in, and repeated them in my mind. Eventually, I fell asleep.
Even death is no match for love.
Reflection:
●Search for scriptures about God’s love that speak directly to your fears.
●Surrender those fears to God’s love.
●God loves you. His love is stronger than your fear. Rest in that truth.
