What if Jesus Is Who You’ve Been Searching For?

If you didn’t really grow up around church or Christian stuff then you might smirk when people say, “I found Jesus” or write Bible Plans like this one about “how to find Jesus.” Maybe you’re thinking, “So is Jesus hiding all over the place like Easter eggs?” Or, “Why is Jesus hiding in the first place?” Or, “Wait, so how did Jesus get lost?”

We’re all searching for something. Maybe it’s peace, purpose, love that doesn’t leave, or hope when life is hard. That desire to find more is something we all share because we were created for more.

It’s easy to chase hits of fulfillment in things that don’t last. Things like success, relationships, entertainment, and approval. But even when we get what we thought we wanted, it can still feel like something’s missing.

What if that longing in your soul is actually pointing you to a person?

Jesus once said something radical: “I am the way and the truth and the life.” He didn’t say He would show us the way. He claimed to be the way. That means finding Jesus isn’t just about gaining information—it’s about discovering a relationship that can change everything.

Here’s what finding Jesus could mean for you:

• You don’t have to wander through life without direction.
• You don’t have to carry shame or guilt from your past.
• You don’t have to fix yourself before God will care about you.

So here’s what we mean by “finding Jesus.” Because of a historical human—Jesus, who is also the eternal God—you are fully seen, fully known, and fully loved by God. This is the God who made you and your whole world, and He has unfathomable grace and truth waiting for you to experience every day.

John, a close friend of Jesus, said it like this:

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16 NIV

We’ll keep unpacking what this means over the next few days. But for now, know this: Jesus meets you right where you are. The invitation is personal. The love is real.
