Prayer Works - Vol. 1: Praying at All TimesSample

Day 5: Sinking Faith
What happens when you step out in faith and things don’t turn out as expected? I find comfort in how Jesus responded to Peter when he stepped off the boat and began to sink. Although Peter was initially walking on water towards Jesus, he started to sink when he looked down and let doubt creep in. However, he did not drown. In that moment of uncertainty, Jesus reached out to him, ensuring he would be safe (Matthew 14:22–33). While Jesus admonished Peter for having little faith, he still reached out to help him. Remember, even if you struggle with your faith and feel your prayers are waning, God still hears a sincere and authentic heart.
