DAY 2 OF 5

Yesterday, today, tomorrow

In John’s Gospel, Jesus slowly reveals Himself to His followers and listeners. In this passage, He reveals His eternal being as not only existing before Abraham (2,000 years earlier), but also that Jesus is NOW. The I AM, God the Son, outside of time. And for all eternity.

And there are huge ramifications of that for mankind, for history, and especially for the believer.

Interestingly, scientists are currently debating ‘what is time’. The debate centres around scientific formulas such as Einstein’s Theory of Relativity and the concept of space-time, and whether gravity affects time.

Colossians 1:15,16 says: ‘He [Christ] is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.’ This implies that He also created time.

So for the believer, Jesus Christ is in all our days, in our yesterdays and our tomorrows. Nothing is beyond His reach or understanding. And so by faith we invite Him into our daily lives, to lead and guide. We also joyfully invite Him to heal our past and strengthen us for all of our tomorrows.

About this Plan

Time

Time is precious – you can’t get it back, and it seems to be moving so fast! As you pray and believe in God for a breakthrough in your life, remember that God’s timing is not our timing; everything will come to pass in your life exactly when it should, and if we slow down and work on God’s schedule, He will use that time to shape and teach us.
