WORSHIP: EXALT

I'm pretty sure you haven't heard the word "exalt" this week. It's one of those Bible words that most people don't use regularly.

But you can probably figure out what it means. "Alt" is from the same word as "altitude." Altitude is your elevation, i.e., how high you are. Now you might think that God is already way up in the skies and he doesn't need any more altitude. As the Most High God, he's as far up there as he can get, right?

Well, I'll tell you one place where he's not at the highest possible point--and that's in your heart. That's where he needs some hoisting and mud jacking. When you exalt God, you lift him up where he belongs--above you!

You exalt him when you look up and say, "Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all" (1 Chronicles 29:11).

So today, let him know, "God, you are big and great and amazing! Today I'm going to treat you the way you deserve. I'm proud of you. Today I'm going to exalt you."
