Contending for the Faith in a Compromised World

DAY 5 OF 5

Day 5: WORSHIP

Doxology, a short expression of praise to God, often found at the end of letters or prayers in Scripture. It lifts up God's glory, power, and eternal nature with reverence and joy.

Jude ends his epistle where every true believer must: not with fear, not even with resolve, but with worship. After all the warnings, the hard truths, and the call to contend, Jude lifts his eyes to God — the only One who can keep us from falling and bring us, blameless and joyful, into His glorious presence. That’s the goal: not just to survive these days, but to stand before Him one day unashamed and full of joy. That won’t be because of your strength. It will be because of His. He keeps you. He sustains you. He finishes what He starts in you (Phil. 1:6).

Worship is not just a response to inspiration. It’s the natural result of seeing God clearly. This final doxology, placed right at the close of Jude’s letter, bursts with reverence: glory, majesty, power, and authority all belong to Him, now and forever. This moment of praise follows right after Jude urges believers to build themselves up in the faith, pray in the Holy Spirit, remain in God's love, and wait with hope for Christ’s mercy. That’s the life of worship — rooted in truth, fueled by communion, and anchored in expectancy. Paul told the Romans to offer their bodies as living sacrifices, calling it a true and proper act of worship (Rom. 12:1). In other words, your whole life becomes an altar. Every word, every choice, every response is an offering when surrendered to Him.

And here’s the beauty of it: worship steadies you. When your heart is fixed on the greatness of God, you’re not as easily swayed by what’s false. When you live in awe of His majesty, lesser things lose their grip. Jude opened by calling you beloved, called, and kept. He now closes by lifting your gaze to the One who will keep you to the very end.

Jesus is faithful. He is able. And He is worthy of all your worship.

Reflect

  • Is your life marked by worship, not just in music or church, but in your daily thoughts and actions?
  • How has your view of God shaped the way you respond to false teaching and spiritual pressure?
  • What would it look like to finish your race with joy, full of praise, and unshaken by this world?
