Identity & Purpose

God’s love for us is as reliable as the sunrise and as steady as our breath. It’s eternal, and it never changes. His love for us is not impacted by our failures or successes. It doesn’t change based on our performance or productivity. There is no reason to doubt his love or worry about how he sees us. We are his beloved children, and he is filled with adoration for us. There is nothing we can do to lessen his opinion of us. He created us with intention and love, and he doesn’t look at us with frustration or disdain. He sees us with mercy, and he longs for us to know the depths of his love.

Sometimes it’s hard to understand the steady nature of God’s love. We are used to being in relationships where love is given and taken away. We see love that fluctuates, thrives, and sometimes dies. It’s difficult not to apply our experiences with human love to how God loves us. The truth is that they are entirely separate. God’s perfect love is not altered by the way people reflect it. He loves us fully simply because he created us, and he knows us best.

You are God’s masterpiece. He formed you with delight and creativity. There is nothing within you that bothers him or causes him to dislike you. He wants you to experience newness in Christ so you can be near him forever. He wants you to find freedom in the glory of his presence. He releases you from bondage and offers you freedom when you confess your sins and call upon his name.

Today, rest in the fact that God’s love for you is perfect. Go to him confidently and remember that he is always ready to offer you mercy even if you’ve misinterpreted or misunderstood his love before. Ask him for a fresh revelation of his character, and he will happily teach you.
