Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God Provides

DAY 19 OF 30

When addiction reveals your weaknesses, God gives you strength.

Addiction has a way of showing us just how weak we really are. It brings out the parts of ourselves we try to hide — the habits we can’t break, the emotions we can’t control, and the pain we don’t want to face. In moments of weakness, it’s easy to feel powerless, to feel like no matter how hard we try, we’ll never be strong enough to win the battle. And alone, we aren’t.

But with God, we are. He provides strength that never runs out. Consider Paul, the inspired author of Philippians. After being imprisoned, shipwrecked, beaten, rejected, and persecuted, he wrote, “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength” (Philippians 4:13). When we feel like we can’t keep going, no matter the hardships we’ve endured, God steps in with the strength to carry us. Where our strength ends, His begins.

Prayer

Lord, I’m tired and weak. I’ve tried to do this on my own, but I can’t. I need Your strength. When I can’t carry myself, I trust You to carry me. Help me overcome my addiction one step at a time. Amen.

About this Plan

Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God Provides

Addiction can take more than we realize — our peace, our identity, our relationships, and even our hope. But God is a provider, not a thief. In this 30-day devotional journey, you’ll uncover how God can meet you in the mess, rewrite your story, and restore what addiction tried to steal. With God, nothing is wasted. Addiction makes false promises, but God always delivers on His. Through Him, you have a powerful testimony worth sharing.
