Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God Provides

DAY 4 OF 30

When addiction whispers lies, God shouts the truth.

Addiction is a master liar. It promises peace but brings chaos. It says, “Just one more time,” and then whispers, “See? You’ll never change.” It knows exactly how to twist the truth just enough to sound believable. Addiction feeds on shame and fear, using your doubts to make you deaf to God’s truth.

You might not have heard God’s truth when addiction took hold, but He is shouting promises of the future. He says, “I have plans to give you a hope and a future” (Jeremiah 29:11). Today, let His voice be louder than the lies. Actively listen for His promises, and let Him guide you towards His truth. Fix your thoughts on the good things Philippians 4:8 calls you to so that your heart stays anchored in hope and open to God’s plan for your life.

Prayer

Lord, help me silence the lies and hear Your truth. I choose to believe that You have a future for me — one full of hope and freedom. Speak louder than addiction, and lead me step by step into Your truth. Amen.

About this Plan

Addiction Rewritten: Addiction Takes, God Provides

Addiction can take more than we realize — our peace, our identity, our relationships, and even our hope. But God is a provider, not a thief. In this 30-day devotional journey, you’ll uncover how God can meet you in the mess, rewrite your story, and restore what addiction tried to steal. With God, nothing is wasted. Addiction makes false promises, but God always delivers on His. Through Him, you have a powerful testimony worth sharing.
