FEAST: 30 Days of Real Truth for Real Life

DAY 3 OF 30

Day 3: Nehemiah—Conviction

Snack

  1. Nehemiah had God given conviction to leave what was comfortable and go back to help his people.
  2. He understood the power of prayer and recognised that he was powerless to achieve results without God’s help.
  3. His convictions, reverence and right action led to favour and open doors.

Appetiser

Our world is broken. What in particular about the brokenness, convicts you and compels you to ACT?

Main Course

You can read Nehemiah's story in full throughout the book. I've given you references to a synopsis of his story in today's reading. As you'll read, you'll note that his life wasn't all plain sailing. He received opposition on many sides. However, what strikes me about this man of God is that this conviction led him to prayer and discernment and when he was sure that his conviction and indeed, outrage was God-given, he acted upon it. This action was blessed by the Lord and given the okay by those in authority over him. I believe that Nehemiah's story really teaches us something of what to do with God-given conviction.

What steps can you take regarding the convictions God has placed on your heart today?
