Peace in the Storm

DAY 14 OF 30

God Restores

God is speaking through the prophet Joel to a people who had lost so much. The land had been stripped bare by wave after wave of locusts — everything they worked for was eaten up. But in the middle of that devastation, God makes a radical promise: “I will restore the years…”

Notice, He doesn’t just say He’ll restore things — He says He’ll restore years. That means God has the power to redeem lost time, wasted seasons, and broken opportunities. What looks gone forever, He can multiply back into your life.

Sometimes we think restoration means God gives us back what we lost exactly the way it was. But Joel 2:25 reminds us His restoration is greater. He doesn’t just give it back — He gives it back better. What looks wasted in your life can become the soil for something greater. What the enemy devoured, God can rebuild. What life stripped from you, God can resurrect.

I’ve seen God redeem situations I thought were ruined. Like I truly thought it would be a situation that would never change, and I built walls and guards around my emotions to ensure I would not get hurt further by those things. But when I truly surrendered and allowed God to have his way, He brought beauty from places I thought were barren. What I felt would never change, changed in an instant. God's restoration always surprises me.

Pray today:“God, restore what feels lost in my life.” Write it down and watch for His hand to move. Believe that nothing in your past disqualifies you from a future filled with God's favor, and trust Him to restore abundantly. God is a Redeemer of time -- Don't mourn as if your years were wasted. It's all a part of your story to see God more clearly.
