Jesus is the most influential person in human history.

Jesus of Nazareth is not a myth or a legend. He was a real person, rooted in history. Even historians who don’t acknowledge him as Lord have written about him.

Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 15 (NIV) that the death and resurrection of Jesus are “of first importance”. So while it is widely accepted that Jesus lived, this passage is a reminder of the significance of his death and resurrection.

Why? Because if Christ has not been raised, then our faith is useless.

The early church staked everything on this reality. They claimed that Jesus rose again and appeared to many eyewitnesses - men and women who could confirm what they had seen.

This was not a private vision or a vague spiritual idea. The risen Jesus ate with his followers, walked with them, and invited them to touch his wounds.

The disciples were so convinced that Jesus had risen from the dead that they were willing to suffer, be imprisoned, and even lose their lives for this truth. No one willingly dies for something they know is a lie.

And here’s the game-changing part: Jesus continues to transform lives today. Across centuries and cultures, countless people have discovered forgiveness, hope, and a new way of living because of him. The same Jesus who changed the lives of Peter, Paul, and Mary Magdalene is still at work in our world and in us.

If Jesus is truly risen, then he is not just the most influential person in history - he is Lord. And that changes everything.
