Wide Open: Opening Our Lives to What God Wants to Do Through UsSample

Jesus called his followers salt and light—two simple but powerful elements that transform the world. Salt adds flavor and preserves what’s good, while light reveals what’s hidden and guides the way forward. Living wide open means being both: bringing truth with love, and offering grace with honesty, in ways that make life better for the people around us.
This kind of life—choosing generosity over greed, compassion over indifference, and inclusion over exclusion—is often counter-cultural. It may push you to go against the grain or make choices that aren’t easy. But speaking and acting with truth that builds up, while letting grace shape your words and actions, is exactly what our world needs.
The more we live wide open—letting God lead how we treat and speak to others—the more people can experience his heart through us. It’s in these everyday choices that we shine as salt and light, showing love, hope, and life in tangible ways.
Pray: God, help me be salt and light in the world today. Give me the wisdom to balance truth with grace, and the courage to act in ways that bless and guide others. Teach me to live a wide-open life that makes your love easy to see.
