Day 12: The Silent Years: Waiting for Light ā Amos 8:11ā12; Galatians 4:4
šæ The prophet Amos described a time when God would go silent. Israel had turned its back on Him, embracing corruption and idolatry. In response, God declared a famineānot of food or water, but of hearing His Word.
Silence from God can feel unbearable, yet He often uses these seasons to purify us. St. John of the Cross called such times āThe Dark Night of the Soul.ā It sounds ominous, but itās often when God works most deeplyārefining us, shaping us, drawing us closer to Himself.
When we persevere through silence and uncertainty, we emerge renewed, ready to experience Godās light once again. Paul reminds us in Galatians 4:4 that when the fullness of time came, God sent His Sonāthe very Light of the worldāto redeem and renew all things.
⨠Christmas Truth to Ponder: Even when God seems silent, He is still faithful to complete His work in you.
š Todayās Action Step: Embrace moments of quiet and stillness today. Let God use them to shape you into the image of Christ.
