The Realm of No ExplanationSample

Day 2: The Altar—The Place of Remission and Grace
You can’t reach God’s mercy seat or see miracles without passing by the altar. The altar is where we lay down our sin, shame, and brokenness and pick up God’s astonishing grace. It’s here that what should define us—our past—gets covered by the blood of Jesus, making us new. Ready to have your story altered at the altar?
The altar is the beginning of supernatural living, the starting line on the path to the realm of no explanation. When the Israelites approached God, they couldn’t bypass the brazen altar; there, sacrifice and blood flowed. Why? Because miracles and mercy are always tied to covenant and surrender.
That brazen altar points us straight to the cross. It’s not our performance, goodness, or religion that puts us in right standing with God; it’s the blood of Jesus. When we come to Him, confessing and repenting, His blood puts our sins into remission. Think about that. What medicine does for cancer—remission, making it as if it was never there—the blood of Jesus does for our every failure, fear, and regret. As far as the east is from the west, so far does God remove your transgressions from you.
Let grace wash over you. The altar’s dimensions (five by five cubits) scream grace from every angle. Grace is what holds your life together, what brings you through seasons you thought would finish you off. It will meet you in the mess, in the place where you feel most unworthy.
Don’t be content with a little altar and a big miracle seat. The more you give to God here, the wider your access to breakthrough on the other side. Come to the altar—let all your prejudice, division, fear, and shame die there. Let dead things come back to life. The altar is God’s resurrection ground. What is dead in your life? Bring it to Jesus at the altar, and watch Him restore what you thought was lost forever.
Reflection Questions:
- What burdens or regrets are you carrying that you need to leave at the altar?
- How does understanding grace change your view of God’s forgiveness?
- In what ways have you experienced “remission”—a total covering—by Jesus’ blood in your story?
- What area of your life needs a resurrection that only God can bring?
Prayer:
Jesus, I come to the altar. Thank You for shedding Your blood for me. Today, I surrender all: my successes, failures, and secrets. Cover me in Your grace, cleanse me, and resurrect hope and purpose in my life. I receive Your forgiveness and choose to walk in freedom and newness.
