Tips for Effective FastingSample

Day 2 – Have a Made-Up Mind
When you’re a child, your parents make sure they feed you regularly, whether you’re hungry or not. But when you mature, you must labour to put food on the table, both for yourself and for your family. In the same way, in Christ, it is only spiritually immature ones who wait for their pastors to declare a church-wide fast before they do it. God expects you to fast just as He expects you to feed on His Word regularly. He wants you to step up and take responsibility for your spiritual nourishment. And one of the ways to do this is to develop a made-up mind concerning spiritual exercises, such as prayer and fasting.
In terms of the latter, many people who struggle to fast often don't commit to it mentally, so when hunger strikes, even before their intended break time, they give in to food cravings. That isn't nice, but it’s happening, and you can be the difference.
Yes, fasting can be challenging, especially for workers who exert a lot of physical energy in their jobs. However, it is possible to do so and gradually train your spirit to fast for more extended periods. Stop giving yourself multiple excuses not to fast. If God didn’t know that it is beneficial for your spiritual health, He wouldn’t have introduced it in the first place. Honor Him and fast intermittently.
You’re a blessing!
